Jeppesen purchases Ocean Systems Inc.
to grow marine business

ENGLEWOOD, COLO., March 12, 2008 — Jeppesen today announced the purchase of Ocean Systems, Inc., a leading provider of vessel and voyage optimization solutions. Ocean Systems will become a part of Jeppesen’s marine division. Jeppesen is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services.

Ocean Systems’ vessel and voyage optimization solutions reduce vessel fuel consumption, while enhancing safety and schedule reliability. Ocean Systems will complement the operations management solutions Jeppesen is bringing to market.

“We are very pleased to welcome the Ocean Systems team to the Jeppesen and Boeing families,” said Mark Van Tine, Jeppesen president and CEO. “The voyage optimization solutions developed by Ocean Systems deliver increased safety and substantial fuel savings over conventional route planning methods. In addition to improving customer operating efficiencies, the resulting voyage optimization helps them to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and their overall environmental footprint,” added Van Tine.

“We are excited to become an integral part of Jeppesen’s and Boeing’s marine solutions,” said Dr. Henry Chen, president of Ocean Systems, Inc. “With their support and resources, we will make a great contribution to the advancement of maritime transportation technologies,” added Chen.
