Ocean Systems Inc. is located in a converted hangar on the former US Naval Air Station in Alameda, California. OSI occupies over 3,000 sq. feet of office, R&D engineering, and assembly area.  Dedicated work areas are available for software engineering, mechanical engineering, mechanical assembly, electronic assembly with electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.  Product prototype as well as low-volume manufacturing are also suitable. Major machining is normally subcontracted to local vendors. A small machine shop is located within the facility for prototyping and minor modifications. OSI ships its products safely worldwide using environmentally friendly custom foam packaging technology. 

In-house engineering software includes Microsoft Developer Software, Linux, Solidworks 2003 3D CAD, Mathworks MatLab, Mathsoft MathCad and several programs for electronic schematic design, simulation, and printed circuit board layout with auto routing capabilities.

Ocean Systems’ facility has ample space for future engineering, manufacturing and administrative projections.   Our core capacities are supplemented with local and offshore contractors giving us the ability to meet high customer demand periods while keeping our costs low.

Our VDR products are manufactured under the manufacturing quality assurance program of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) an ISO 9000 body. OSI has also developed a quality assurance program, including QA and Procedures Manuals, that is ready for applying ISO9001:2000 certification..
